Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 at the Olympic competition. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian Gymnastics Coach discovered Comaneci at just 6 years old. The first time she competed at the junior national championships in 1969, finishing 13th. She took the title in the year 1970. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior event for countries of the communist bloc she took home three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974 she became an all-around junior champion. When she made her first senior competition in the year 1975, she defeated Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva, the five-time European champion, winning four golds and one argent. She became the first female to do the reverse double salo of the parallel bar that was uneven in the event she won American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career began in the entertainment industry during her teenage years performing as the figure skating duo of the sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6, 1942, on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol's first job was in entertainment during her teenage year. She started her career performing figure skating with Nina Wayne, her younger sister, in the traveling entertainment shows Ice Capades. They featured staged ice skating performance.
